#130: Meet the Real Mayor Pete—E. Michael Jones

#130: Meet the Real Mayor Pete—E. Michael Jones

Out of nowhere, in a matter of weeks, Pete Buttigieg, the Gay Mayor of South Bend, IN, is a well-known fixture in the American media consumer’s psyche as a candidate for President of the United States. Time Magazine put him on the cover standing awkwardly with his husband (or is it wife?) Chasten with the headline “First Family.” Like, totally normal.

Dr. E. Michael Jones, author of 12+ books on faith and culture and the editor of Culture Wars Magazine has written a concise biography about Mayer Pete titled Home Alone, a riff on the candidate’s memoirs (well, a memoir cum political manifesto), Shortest Way Home: One Mayor’s Challenge and a Model for America’s Future.

As it happens, Mayor Pete grew up three doors down on the same street as the Jones family i South Bend. Jones’s youngest son Adam attended the same school, and was also a valedictorian (in different years, of course) and both went to Harvard.

Yet, in Mayor Pete’s memoirs somehow—gosh, who knows why—there is no mention of neighbors like the Jones family. As Jones makes clear, almost nothing is what it appears when it comes to this longshot Democrat Party candidate.

In this episode you will learn

  • The hard left wing political ideas of Antonio Gramsci and Michel Foucault held and taught by Mayor Pete’s father, the late Joe Buttigieg (RIP) of Notre Dame, and how these have profoundly influenced Junior.
  • Why the homosexual is now considered the ideal citizen.
  • The context of Mayor Pete’s mendacious rise in local politics and why South Bend residents do not grade him highly as major.
  • How the Democratic Party essentially invented Citizen Pete out of thin air.
  • Why Mayor Pete’s so-called gay marriage in the Episcopal church is the apotheosis of the 1930 Anglican decision to permit birth control.

Food for Thought:

Why is the Buttigieg candidacy a brilliant move for the elite establishment?

#129: What is Salvation, Anyway?—Dr. Michael Barber

#129: What is Salvation, Anyway?—Dr. Michael Barber

“Brother, are you saved?” is the question most Catholics are not comfortable hearing. In fact, Catholics tend not to talk about “being saved” or even “salvation” itself, even though the whole point of the incarnation of Christ is enshrined front and center in the Creed, “for us men and for our salvation….”

So what is it, and why do so few Catholics seem able or even interested in talking about it? It’s a curious thing. Catholics seem more likely to couch it in terms of “going to heaven” rather than “being saved” which sounds Protestant. Dr. Michael Barber, associate professor of sacred Scripture and theology at the Augustine Institute, sets the record straight in this fact-laden interview about the One Thing that matters in this life and the life to come.

In this episode you will learn

  • Why boldness is contagious and how you can reframe the way you think about “doing something” about abortion
  • How Rev. Hoye came to be arrested, and why he chose jail over an under-the-table deal that would require a guilty plea
  • Hoye’s insights into why contraception does not fit in the biblical framework of love and marriage and how it contributes to the abortion scourge
  • The reasons why Christian faith must be put into practice, when necessary in the public sphere
  • How he came to the point of forgiving the district attorney players, the abortion clinic director and the mob who lied about him and put him behind bars
  • Signs of hope that more and more young people are coming to see abortion as a violent, permanent solution to a temporary human problem.

Food for Thought:

What is the number one reason why so few Catholics understand the basic message of salvation?

Abortion: How to Argue the “Hard Case Arguments”

ABORTION: HOW TO ANSWER THE “HARD CASE” ARGUMENTS

After the pro-life bills signed into law in the month in OH, GA, and AL, the conversation about abortion has shifted into high gear. Supporters of abortion are now using an argument that has maximal emotional appeal, but no logical consistency.

I set forth five simple arguments for the so-called “rape/incest” loophole exceptions. Is the 100% pro-life position really the extremist one?

Now we have to have the conversation many pro-lifers have been able to dodge because it’s “moot” and that is: what should the punishment be for procuring or performing an abortion?

Do you know how tiny is the percentage of abortions for rape and incest (really the same thing)?

The Truth About the Masonic Lodge

The Truth About the Masonic Lodge

The Masons, aka “Shriners” aka Freemasons. Are they a harmless bunch of old guys on mini-bikes in fez hats who run hospitals? No. In this video, Patrick Coffin gives a quick history of the Masonic Lodge, what they believe, and why Catholics cannot participate in their occultic organization.

Modern Freemasonry started in 1717 in England during the dawn of the Enlightenment. It’s a hodgepodge of new age Rosicrucianism, astrology, theosophy, and traditions of cultic groups such as the Druids, Mithars, Egyptian priesthood.

Freemasonry also involves the taking of occultic oaths, keeping the truth of Freemasonry a secret, indifferentism, and the subversion of the Church and the state. Members also open themselves to gruesome deaths if they reveal the inner secrets of “the Lodge.”

Popes since Clement XII in 1738 have said the same thing: Catholics cannot be Masons

#128: Black and Prolife in America—Rev. Walter Hoye II

#128: Black and Prolife in America—Rev. Walter Hoye II

Why does Planned Parenthood target black neighborhood for abortion for sale? Why are there so few high-profile black pastors who are known for pro-life advocacy? Why do so few people know that Margaret Sanger, the founder of Planned Parenthood was a diehard eugenics supporter?

Rev. Walter Hoye has answers. He also has some practical wisdom to impart, and a courageous non-violent witness to emulate. This helps explain why Alveda King, the niece of Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr., wrote the powerful Foreword to Walter’s biography (see link below). Hoye chose 30 days in jail time in 2009 for violating an absurd City of Oakland ordinance called a “bubble law” (which was created for him). What was his crime?

He held up a sign that read, “God loves you and your baby; let us help you.” No yelling, no intimidation, no pushy activism. Just a ministry of presence to give scared young women an alternative to what they’re about to choose.

Question of the week:

How can men and fathers speak up against abortion when they’re accused of “not having the right to opine” because of their sex?

Nobody Was More Divisive Than Jesus

Nobody Was More Divisive Than Jesus

The recent “divisive” Open Letter in which the scholars accuse Pope Francis of being a heretic raises a question:

Was Jesus Christ divisive? If you answer no, you have some explaining to do because Jesus was a lean, green dividing machine: sheep from goats, Pharisees from humble publicans, Jews who accepted Him and those who had him killed, the saved and the damned, the wheat from tares. And so on.

The pontificate of Pope Francis provides many obstacles to accepting that Catholicism is true, by dividing Catholics not against the world, but against each other. Big difference. Big problem.

127: An Agnostic Jew Defends Christian America—David Horowitz

127: An Agnostic Jew Defends Christian America—David Horowitz

Sometimes outsiders behave like insiders and vice versa. Agnostic Jewish author and critic David Horowitz has collected an awful lot of important social and historical information and put it all in one place: his new book Dark Agenda: The War to Destroy Christian America.

Why defend Christian America from her enemies—many of them liberal Jews at the forefront of radical movements? Because, inter alia, Horowitz is a recovering liberal radical himself and he knows the targets of his book and their rabid agenda very well.

In this episode you will learn

  • The history of the war to destroy America through Supreme Court decisions and the social movements that led to them
  • How Horowitz, an agnostic, came to see clearly what would happen if America stopped being a Christian nation
  • Why so many secularist Jews have been behind revolutionary movements
  • How the “right to privacy” somehow discovered in the 1965 Griswold v Connecticut decision paved the way for Roe v Wade and other badly argued decisions
  • What Christians can do once they see the reality of the war against the religious dimension of the American experiment

Proving the Deuterocanonicals —What’s Your Authority?

Proving the Deuterocanonicals —What’s Your Authority?

Catholics accept all 73 books of the Bible as inspired and inerrant. Most Protestants accept only 66 books. What are the other seven books, and why did the Reformers (sic) remove them from the canon? These are the Deuterocanonical books of the Bible: Sirach, Tobit, Wisdom, Judith, 1 and 2 Maccabees, and Baruch, as well as longer versions of Daniel and Esther. Patrick Coffin puts the basic elements of the debate all in one place. Scripture verses mentioned: 2 Tim 3:16 2 Maccabees 12 Jude v. 9 Heb 11:35/2 Macc. 7:1-42. Luke 1:42/Judith 13:18. Rom. 1:20/Wis. 13:1

Where We Got the Bible

Where We Got the Bible

The Bible never uses the term “the Bible” and nowhere states what Scripture even is. So how do we know it’s the word of God, and what does that even mean? Patrick Coffin puts it all in one place.

Verses mention in this video:

2 Tim 3:16
Isaiah 40:8
Isaiah 55:11
Luke 3:2
Acts 12:22

Joe Biden: Practicing Calflick

In this video, Patrick Coffin uses a phrase he coined, “CalfLick” to denote Catholics who kick their Catholic Faith to the curb in the course of their political life and policy decisions. Somewhere along the line, people started buying the lie that people of faith must shed that faith if they are to serve the public in elected office.

Bosh.

Joe Biden, along with Like Nancy Pelosi, John Kerry, Andrew Cuomo and his late father Mario Cuomo, Dick Durbin, Gray Davis, Tim Kaine, Patrick Kennedy, his late father Ted Kennedy, Bob Menendez, Lisa Murkowski, Kathleen Sebelius, Robert BETO O’Rourke (all Democrats, but let’s not forget Republican pro-choice Sen. Susan Collins of Maine), needs a conversion of heart and mind.

Biden even supports China’s barbarous one-child policy. Not a typo. He said so in a talk to students at Sichuan University in 2011.
